C105. May 11. 60 minutes. Kestrel Burley, Arjuna Neuman, Amanda Washko, Christoffer Schunk.
Breaking and Entering is a collaboration between students from the schools of theatre, art and music, and will take place 21-27 May at Human Resources in downtown Los Angeles. Here we present a work-in-progress showing and discussion of the project’s guiding themes, with the opportunity for anonymous audience feedback. Breaking and Entering is devised work that explores the relationship between war, sexuality and pornography, media, and that way we have of playing out conflict in our minds like Sunday’s cartoon strips. An ensemble of performers will incorporate artist Arjuna Neuman’s environmental elements as “characters” in a series of vignettes, transforming his installation from a purgatorial space with the threat of action — into a theatrical space — a place of action.
